About the Lessons

The studio offers voice, piano, guitar, music theory, the advanced vocal program, musical theater and opera workshops in an enjoyable, nurturing and fun environment. We also offer virtual dance lessons! The studio encourages versatility, creativity, improvisation and inquisitive students. Students will come to their lessons excited to make beautiful music each week. A lesson filled with positivity and humor make for happy and motivated students!

Voice

training for all levels

ages 8 & up

Vocal training at Bucks County School of Music addresses many concerns and anxieties singers have. Singers learn several aspects of what it takes to grow and improve the voice both mentally and physically. Voice training involves the following:

• resolve performance anxiety and insecurities

• improve vocal technique, musicality and musicianship

• learn fun and easy vocal exercises

• learn to sight read and read music within 1 year of lessons

• become versatile in many genres

• perform in a recital each year

• learn to love practicing

• opportunity to perform in a spring and holiday recital

Piano

Children and adults

Ages 6 & up

Piano training is an excellent way to develop self confidence and improve mathematic and analytical skills. Students will learn classical technique in addition to enjoying learning popular, musical theater and jazz music in a fun and easy way!

• students will move through a set of books in 6-9 months

• students will learn songs and how to practice in the lesson

• learning music in lessons is easy and fun

• kids will begin to practice at home with no reminders

• adults will learn technique and songs from their lesson books at a rapid rate

• adults will play fun and easy songs they’ve always wanted to play

• students will be proud of their accomplishments

Advanced Vocal Prep Program

Ages 13 & up

Bucks County School of Music offers performance coaching and training in preparation for auditions. She specializes in musical theater, classical and jazz repertoire.

• vast library and knowledge of repertoire

• competition preparation

• college audition preparation for pre-screening recordings and live auditions for jazz, musical theater and classical programs

• college guidance and advice on repertoire requirements

• music theory and ear training is incorporated into the curriculum

• students will learn how to compile a resume and headshots

• performance practice for various audition situations

• training in audition expectations for local and regional musical theater and opera productions

• opportunity to participate in musical theater and opera one-on-one workshops taught by both Kara and Andrew via zoom

• opportunity to perform in a spring recital and holiday recital
